The gating system is comparatively simple, and the cross-sectional dimensions of the equipment used should be larger than those for cast iron. Consequently, both hot‑box and dry‑box molding can be employed during production.

The processing temperature can be set to guarantee good fluidity of the melt during transfer, while the selection of the casting temperature must take into account the transfer distance, the cooling conditions during transfer, and other relevant factors.
